A 28-year-old Assam Police constable has died after suffering serious injuries in a road accident in the Samaguri area of Assam's Nagaon district .
The deceased has been identified as Dibyajyoti Kalita, a resident of Namponi village under Puranigudam. He was serving in the 9th Assam Police Battalion based in Barhampur.
According to reports, the accident took place at Chokorigaon in Nagaon, where Kalita was critically injured. He was immediately rushed to a private hospital in Guwahati for treatment, where he remained under medical care.
However, despite efforts by doctors, he succumbed to his injuries on Wednesday morning.
His untimely death has left his family, friends, and colleagues in deep shock. Further details regarding the accident are yet to be known.
