Voting was disrupted at several polling stations across Assam today morning due to reported malfunctions in Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs), causing delays and concern among voters.
In Tinsukia constituency, voting had not begun at Polling Station No. 120 even hours after the scheduled start, as officials worked to fix issues with the EVM. Similarly, polling was delayed at Sukhani English LP School under the Bokajan constituency, where voters were seen waiting outside as authorities tried to resolve technical problems.
A similar situation was reported from Sonari, where voting at a booth located in Bhojo High School also failed to begin on time due to EVM-related issues.
These disruptions led to temporary confusion and frustration among voters, many of whom had arrived early to cast their votes. Election officials were seen taking steps to address the problems and ensure that polling could begin at the earliest.
