Assam recorded a strong voter turnout of 85.96% in the latest Assembly Elections 2026, reflecting a high level of participation across the state.
According to official figures, several constituencies witnessed exceptionally high polling percentages. Birsing Jarua recorded one of the highest turnouts at 96.54%, followed closely by Jaleshwar (96.28%), Gauripur (96.07%), and Mankachar (95.61%). Other constituencies such as Dalgaon (95.56%), Chenga (95.33%), and Goalpara East (94.79%) also saw very strong voter participation.
In contrast, urban constituencies reported comparatively lower turnout. New Guwahati recorded 72.37%, while Dispur stood at 75.04% and Guwahati Central at 76.07%.
Most rural and semi-urban constituencies across Assam, however, saw robust participation, with many areas crossing the 85–90% mark, indicating widespread voter enthusiasm.
Overall, the election witnessed energetic participation across regions, from the Barak Valley to Upper Assam and the Bodoland areas, marking a significant democratic exercise in the state.
