Balipara Foundation has announced that the 14th edition of the Eastern Himalayan Naturenomics™ Forum (EHNF) 2026 will be held from October 30 to November 3 as part of Naturenomics™ Week across leading academic institutions in Assam. The multi-institutional platform will bring together stakeholders to deliberate on sustainability, ecological resilience, and future pathways for Northeast India and the Eastern Himalayas.
EHNF 2026 is expected to host over 2,000 participants from more than 15 countries, including policymakers, researchers, industry leaders, educators, youth, indigenous communities, and sustainability practitioners. The forum will focus on themes such as regenerative economies, ecological resilience, and innovation-driven development.
As part of Naturenomics™ Week, five partner institutions will host thematic discussions. TISS Guwahati will lead sessions on communities, culture, and indigenous futures. Cotton University will focus on forests and biodiversity, while IIT Guwahati will address water and energy futures.
Gauhati University will deliberate on sustainable land futures, and Assam Royal Global University will centre discussions on green technology, innovation, and entrepreneurship.
Beyond formal discussions, the forum will feature experiential sustainability exhibits, technology demonstrations, and showcases on circular and green economies. It will also include social entrepreneurship initiatives and collaborative engagements linking academia, industry, and communities.
Over the past 13 years, EHNF has evolved into a key regional and international platform at the intersection of ecology, economy, conservation, and community-led development. It has facilitated cross-sector collaboration, promoted indigenous knowledge systems, and encouraged youth participation in sustainability discourse.
Previous editions of the forum have seen participation from organisations such as TERI, ICIMOD Nepal, Bhutan Trust Fund for Environmental Conservation, and the Royal University of Bhutan, alongside corporates including HDFC Bank, Axis Bank, JSW Energy, Tata Consumer Products, Tata Power, SEROS, and The Coca-Cola Company.
Through EHNF 2026 and Naturenomics™ Week, the Balipara Foundation aims to strengthen institutional collaboration and position Northeast India and the Eastern Himalaya as influential voices in sustainability, climate resilience, and regenerative development.
Further details on speakers, programme schedules, and partnerships are expected to be announced in the coming months.
