In a tragic accident at Baduli Pukhuri in Teok, two women lost their lives on the spot on Friday. The victims have been identified as Kusum Gowala and Jonmoni Gowala from the Umabari area near Baduli Pukhuri.
According to reports, the women were travelling on a scooty (AS-03 AN 4689) toward Jorhat when a truck coming from the same direction hit them from behind. The impact completely destroyed the scooty, leaving it in ruins.
The truck reportedly fled the scene immediately after the accident. Local authorities have launched an investigation to trace the vehicle and hold the driver accountable.
