The sacred Sri Sri Batadrava Than, the birthplace of Mahapurush Srimanta Sankardev, witnessed grand religious celebrations on the occasion of Mahapurush Madhavdev's birth anniversary on Monday.
The event was observed with complete traditional Vaishnavite rituals and a deep devotional spirit.
The day began with early morning ceremonial bell ringing, followed by 'naam-prasanga' by the devotees and traditional khol performances. Devotees and women devotees (Aai) participated in prayers and devotional singing, filling the atmosphere with spiritual energy.
A large congregation of nearly thousands of devotees and Vaishnavites from different parts of Assam gathered at the sacred site to take part in the celebrations. In the afternoon, a special 'kirtan' session was held to mark the birth anniversary of Madhavdev.
During the kirtan, several devotional hymns were performed.
The celebration was not limited to the main prayer hall. Devotees were seen offering 'prasad', 'sarai', and lighting lamps at the Kirtan Ghar, Uttar Padashila, Dakshin Padashila, and the Dol Mandir premises of Batadrava Than. The entire complex turned into a vibrant spiritual gathering site filled with devotion and reverence.
