A 13-year-old school student has been missing since Wednesday in the Palashbari area.
The missing boy, identified as Nayanmoni Das, is a Class 8 student of Palashbari Boys High School.
According to family sources, Nayanmoni is the only son of Naba Kumar Das, who originally hails from Bihdia in Upper Assam and has been living in Palashbari for a long time as a tenant family. His father is reportedly employed at a local industrial unit in the area.
As per information provided by the family, the boy left home around 9 am on Wednesday morning. He was later seen spending time and playing with his friends until around noon. However, when he did not return home after that, the family grew worried and began searching for him.
One of his friends reportedly said that Nayanmoni had mentioned going to a nearby pond for a bath. However, it remains unclear whether he actually went there or proceeded elsewhere afterwards.
Following the incident, the family approached the police seeking help. Acting swiftly, police launched a search operation in the surrounding areas. Multiple locations are being checked as part of the ongoing investigation.
Meanwhile, the pond where the boy was reportedly last expected to go has also been searched by SDRF. Despite extensive efforts, no trace of the missing student has been found so far.
Both police and SDRF teams continue their search operations with urgency, while concern continues to grow among family members and locals.
