A complaint has been filed at Basistha Police Station in Guwahati against Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge over his alleged remarks during a recent political rally in Assam.

The complaint was lodged by BJP Assam spokesperson Ranjib Kumar Sarmah, who accused Kharge of making inflammatory comments while addressing a gathering at Nilambazar in Sribhumi district on April 7. According to the complaint, Kharge allegedly described the ideology of the BJP and RSS as “poisonous” and compared it to a “poisonous snake.”

It also claims that the Congress leader made remarks calling for the removal of the BJP, which the complainant said could hurt sentiments and create tension among different groups.

Moreover, the delegation of the Karnataka unit of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) also lodged a formal complaint against Kharge with the State Director General and Inspector General of Police M.A. Saleem.

The complaint further alleges that such statements may disturb public peace and harmony, especially considering Assam’s sensitive political environment. The complainant has urged authorities to take legal action in the matter.
