In an anti-drug operation in Guwahati, police from Bhagaduttapur Outpost carried out a search at a rented house in Dakhingaon under Kahilipara and recovered a significant quantity of suspected heroin.

Acting on specific information, the police team conducted the operation at a house located in the Dangar Tini Ali area. The search was carried out following all legal procedures and in the presence of independent local witnesses.

During the operation, officials seized as many as 33 plastic containers filled with suspected heroin. In addition, 14 empty containers, six mobile phones, and cash amounting to Rs 68,574 were also recovered from the premises.

Police apprehended two brothers, identified as Raju Ali (33) and Anowar Ali (22), in connection with the case. Both are residents of the Civil Gate area under the Nagaon Sadar Police Station in Nagaon district.

According to sources, the accused had been living in the rented house for a long time and was allegedly involved in drug peddling activities from the location. The family, including their mother and other siblings, had been staying there as tenants.

Police have seized all recovered items as per procedure, and further legal action has been initiated.
