In a shocking incident from Sonapur, Guwahati, a young man was allegedly beaten to death by a group of people in the Digaru Jarikuchi area late at night.
According to initial reports, the man had gone to meet his teenage girlfriend when the situation took a violent turn. A group of locals reportedly caught him and brutally assaulted him.
The victim was severely injured in the attack and was later taken to Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) for treatment. However, he succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment.
The deceased has been identified as Shiv Chauhan, a resident of Amsing Jorabat.
Following the incident, the victim's family lodged a complaint with the police. Based on the FIR, authorities have detained seven individuals in connection with the case. The detained persons include Balin Das, Shivaram Das, Dipak Das, Munindra Das and Tapan Das. Two women have also been taken into custody.
Police have launched a detailed investigation into the matter to determine the exact sequence of events and the motive behind the attack.
