The operations were carried out as part of intensified security and checking measures in the area.

In the first operation, Assam Rifles personnel intercepted and searched a Bolero vehicle at Chassad. During the search, the security personnel recovered Rs 45.10 lakh in cash that had allegedly been concealed inside the vehicle. Four mobile phones were also seized during the operation.

Four individuals travelling in the vehicle were detained by the Assam Rifles in connection with the recovery. The seizure raised concerns over the movement of a substantial amount of cash through the area, prompting further investigation into its source and intended destination.

In a separate operation conducted at the same location, Assam Rifles personnel intercepted an Alto vehicle and carried out a search. The security forces recovered another Rs 29.95 lakh in cash from the vehicle. Three individuals travelling in the car were detained following the seizure.

Together, the two operations resulted in the recovery of Rs 75.05 lakh in cash and the detention of seven individuals, according to the details provided by the security forces.

Following the operations, the detained individuals, the two vehicles and the seized cash were handed over to the Chassad Police Station for further legal proceedings and investigation.

Further investigation will establish whether the two recoveries are connected and whether the detained individuals have any links to illegal financial activities. Authorities are maintaining heightened vigilance in the region to prevent the movement of illicit cash and other prohibited materials.
