According to police sources, Roj Ali was arrested from the Mukalmua char area, Nalbari, where he had been reportedly hiding since the incident. During the operation, police claimed that the accused attempted to snatch a service weapon from the personnel while being taken into custody. In the ensuing situation, police opened fire, leaving him critically injured.

He was immediately shifted to a nearby hospital, but succumbed to excessive blood loss during treatment.

The development comes just days after a shocking late-night attack in Mukalmua, Gangapur that left Madhurjya Barman dead and a young woman critically injured. The assault, allegedly carried out by two individuals using sharp weapons, is believed to have stemmed from a suspected personal dispute linked to a love affair. The woman, reportedly a teenager, continues to battle for her life in a critical condition at a medical facility.
