In an incident of alleged misconduct, a group of hostel students from Cotton University reportedly misbehaved with a Central Industrial Security Force ( CISF) jawan at Paltan Bazar Railway Station in Guwahati.
According to reports, the CISF personnel, who had arrived in the city en route to Kamakhya, was stopped by the students and allegedly harassed. The group reportedly demanded to check his Aadhaar card and PAN card, leading to a confrontation.
The situation escalated when the students allegedly attempted to physically assault the jawan. The incident was reportedly led by student leader Kuldeep Gautam Sharma, associated with All Assam Student Union (AASU).
Police later reached the spot and managed to rescue the CISF personnel from the group.
