The BJP has secured approval for its list of 40 star campaigners for the upcoming Assam elections, senior party leader Dilip Saikia said, outlining an aggressive and multi-layered campaign strategy.

The list includes top national and state leaders, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi scheduled to address five rallies and Union Home Minister Amit Shah expected to hold six. Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal are also set to join the campaign trail across key constituencies.

Saikia confirmed that while major rallies will be a cornerstone, the party will simultaneously focus on smaller, targeted meetings to maximise voter outreach. He added that the final list of star campaigners is likely to be released within the next two days.

According to Saikia, the party will deploy its top leadership strategically across constituencies to consolidate its electoral position.

He added that besides PM Modi and Shah, the party's national president Nitin Nabin, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju are among the leaders who will intensify the party's campaign for the polls.

"We have also sought Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis, Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath and Odisha CM Mohan Charan Majhi as star campaigners," Dilip Saikia added.

He said the proposal has also been sent to the central committee of the party to hold a rally led by Rajnath Singh in Darrang district and a rally by Amit Shah in Tangla, Udalguri district.

Launching a direct attack on opposition figures, Saikia claimed that voters in Sivasagar are seeking "relief" from Akhil Gogoi, asserting that his political ambitions would be rejected by the electorate this time.

He also aimed at Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi, criticising his remarks and questioning the party's leadership. In a pointed comment, Saikia alleged that senior leaders within the opposition lack fluency in Assamese, terming it a matter of concern.

Further, expressing strong confidence, Saikia said the BJP is poised for a massive victory in the elections and expects to win several new constituencies. He dismissed opposition narratives and maintained that the party's development agenda and organisational strength would ensure a decisive mandate.
