Bajaj Pulsar NS400Z price cut has arrived on the back of a strategic engine update and a lower tax slab, and that combination has made the brand's flagship Pulsar noticeably easier to buy for Indian riders.
Bajaj Auto has introduced a revised Pulsar NS400Z with a 349cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine, replacing the earlier 373.2cc unit. The smaller capacity brings the motorcycle under the 18 per cent GST slab, instead of the higher bracket applied to larger engines.
As a result, the updated Pulsar NS400Z is listed at Rs 1,80,092 ex-showroom in Delhi, with total on-road savings of up to Rs 24,500 compared with the previous version, once lower insurance and registration costs are factored in. This change positions the NS400Z among the most accessible motorcycles in India offering around 40 hp, nudging it deeper into the affordable performance category.
Despite the downsizing, Bajaj has kept performance figures close to the outgoing bike. The new 349cc motor produces about 40.6 PS (roughly 40 hp) at 9,000 rpm and 33.2 Nm of peak torque at 7,500 rpm, and the company claims a power-to-weight ratio of 247 PS per tonne, which keeps the NS400Z squarely in high-performance territory for its class.
The feature set is carried over: four ride modes, quickshifter, traction control, dual-channel ABS, radial tyres and a Bluetooth-enabled instrument console remain part of the standard package. Bajaj has also retained the familiar chassis and dimensions, with the 2026 Pulsar NS400Z continuing to offer a 1,346 mm wheelbase, 165 mm ground clearance and an 805 mm seat height aimed at a broad mix of riders.
Sarang Kanade, President - Motorcycles Business Unit at Bajaj Auto, said the company is "passing on the benefits of lower ownership costs, including the 18% GST advantage," while promising the "same thrilling NS experience with a more compelling value proposition." He added that the move is meant to make Pulsar "more inclusive, relevant, and 'Definitely Daring' for today's riders."
In practical terms, the Bajaj Pulsar NS400Z price cut softens the financial barrier to stepping into a near-40 hp motorcycle without stripping away equipment or character. For buyers weighing up their first big bike, the updated NS400Z now offers a stronger blend of performance, features and cost of ownership than before, and that makes this latest refresh not just a technical update, but a timely nudge toward accessible performance motorcycling in India.
