Band Melam OTT release delivers powerful, heartwarming love story on ZEE5

Band Melam OTT release marks the digital arrival of a rural Telugu romance drama that blends music, class conflict and young love in a familiar yet engaging frame.

The film, which completed its theatrical run in late March 2026, now heads to streaming as it premieres on ZEE5 on 24 April 2026 for subscribers.

Band Melam will be available to stream exclusively on ZEE5 from 24 April 2026, following its theatrical debut on 26 March 2026. Viewers will need an active ZEE5 subscription to watch the film online in India and other supported regions. Produced by Kona Film Corporation and Mango Mass Media, the drama is certified 16+ and runs for about 2 hours and 21 minutes.

Directed and co-written by Sathish Javvaji, Band Melam follows Giri, a school dropout who turns his love for music into a wedding band, and Raji, a studious childhood friend whose ambitions take her away from their village. As Raji moves to the city for higher studies, differences in social status and expectations widen the gap between them. A betrayal Raji faces in the city becomes village gossip, forcing Giri to confront both her emotional scars and her father's disapproval if their relationship is to survive.

Harsh Roshan plays Giri opposite Sridevi Apalla as Raji, with veteran Sai Kumar, Goparaju Vijay and Lakshman in key supporting roles. Sathish Javvaji directs from a script written with Siva Mupparaju, while Vijay Bulganin provides the music and Satish Muthyala handles cinematography. Made on an estimated budget of around ₹1 crore, Band Melam collected approximately ₹5.70 crore India net and ₹6.84 crore worldwide gross during its theatrical run, according to box-office tracking site Sacnilk.

Critical reaction in theatres was mixed, with some reviewers calling it a routine rural romantic drama but noting its emotional moments and musical interludes. Audience scores have been comparatively kinder on platforms such as IMDb, where users have highlighted the performances of Harsh Roshan and Sridevi Apalla and the film's village setting. As Band Melam arrives on ZEE5, it is likely to find a second life with viewers who favour grounded Telugu romances, modestly scaled productions and music-driven storytelling over spectacle.
