Central Railway to Run Summer Special Trains From Pune to Meet Holiday Rush

Additional services to Danapur, Gorakhpur, Nagpur and Ghazipur City announced to handle increased passenger demand during summer vacations.

To handle the increase in travel demand for the upcoming summer holiday season, Central Railway has introduced a number of Summer Special trains from Pune to various important destinations across the country. These extra services are designed to reduce passenger crowding and provide more travel choices during the busy vacation time.

Railway officials mentioned that the trains will run at special rates and will cover key routes linking Pune with northern and central regions of India.

Pune-Danapur daily service

One of the key services launched is the Pune-Danapur Daily Special, which will make a total of 212 trips.

The train will leave Pune every day from April 1 to July 15, completing 106 journeys, while the return service from Danapur will operate daily from April 3 to July 17, also finishing 106 trips.

Pune-Gorakhpur special for April

Central Railway will also run a Pune-Gorakhpur Daily Special in April to meet travel demand on this busy route.

The train will depart from Pune daily from April 1 to April 30, completing 30 trips, while the return service from Gorakhpur will run daily from April 2 to May 1, covering another 30 trips.

Weekly superfast trains to Nagpur

To enhance connectivity within Maharashtra, two weekly superfast special trains between Pune and Nagpur have also been announced.

The first service will leave Pune every Tuesday from April 21 to July 14, completing 13 trips, with the return train departing Nagpur every Wednesday from April 22 to July 15.

The second weekly service will operate from Pune on Wednesdays between April 15 and July 15, making 14 trips, while the return journey from Nagpur will run on Thursdays from April 16 to July 16, also completing 14 trips.

Bi-weekly train to Ghazipur City

Additionally, a Pune-Ghazipur City Bi-weekly Special will run eight trips.

The train will leave Pune on Tuesdays and Fridays between April 17 and April 28, while the return service from Ghazipur City will operate on Sundays and Thursdays between April 19 and April 30.

Passenger booking information

Reservations for all Summer Special trains will start on March 17 via the computerized Passenger Reservation System (PRS) counters and the IRCTC website.

Railway officials mentioned that General Second Class coaches and Guard/Luggage vans will not be reserved, and tickets for these can be bought using the UTS system. Standard fees for Mail, Express, and Superfast trains will be applicable.

Travelers are encouraged to verify halt timings and train schedules using the National Train Enquiry System (NTES) portal or mobile app before starting their trip.
