LIK OTT release delivers powerful futuristic love story

LIK OTT release is set to give audiences another chance to experience Love Insurance Kompany's bold blend of sci-fi, romance and social satire beyond cinemas.

When LIK OTT release plans were locked, it marked the next chapter for Vignesh Shivan's Tamil-language sci-fi romantic comedy, which opened in theatres on 10 April 2026. The film's digital rights have been acquired by Amazon Prime Video, positioning the streaming giant as the exclusive home for the title after its big-screen run.

LIK OTT release centres on Love Insurance Kompany, a futuristic dating and insurance app that promises to safeguard relationships by turning love into a contract. Set in the year 2040, the story follows Vassey, played by Pradeep Ranganathan, a man who stubbornly believes in old-school, organic romance, and Dheema, portrayed by Krithi Shetty, who is far more comfortable with tech-driven dating. Their relationship is thrown into crisis when Suriyan, the powerful CEO behind the LIK app, predicts that their love is doomed and treats their bond as just another risky asset.

The LIK OTT release will showcase an ensemble led by Ranganathan and Shetty, alongside S. J. Suryah as Suriyan, with Yogi Babu, Gouri G. Kishan and others in key supporting roles. Written and directed by Vignesh Shivan, the film combines science fiction concepts with humour and romance, using the glossy, app-driven world of 2040 as a backdrop to question whether algorithms should ever decide matters of the heart. Music by Anirudh Ravichander and editing by Pradeep E. Ragav add to the film's energetic, commercial tone.

The LIK OTT release on Prime Video arrives at a time when audiences are already debating the role of data, AI and dating apps in real-world relationships, and the film leans into that conversation with a mainstream, accessible story. By pitting human emotion against a system that scores and insures love, Love Insurance Kompany turns a high-concept premise into a cautionary tale about what might be lost if intimacy becomes just another metric on a screen.
