M5 MacBook Air discount offers Indian buyers a rare chance to pick up Apple's latest ultra-portable laptop with meaningful savings over the official price.
Apple's 2026 MacBook Air with the new M5 chip officially starts at ₹1,19,900 in India for the 13-inch base model.
Retailer Vijay Sales is listing the 512GB, 16GB RAM M5 MacBook Air at around ₹1,10,290 after an 8% direct discount.
On top of that, select bank offers can shave off a further ₹7,000, taking the effective price cut to roughly ₹16,100 compared with Apple's list price.
The M5 MacBook Air discount is not reflected on Apple's own online store, and is limited to partner retail channels, so stock and offers may vary by region.
The latest MacBook Air retains the slim, fanless aluminium design and 13-inch and 15-inch Liquid Retina display options, with brightness rated at 500 nits.
Inside, however, the laptop moves to Apple's M5 chip, featuring a 10-core CPU and up to a 10-core GPU, and is positioned as "built for AI".
Apple claims up to four times faster on-device AI performance compared with the previous M4-based Air, and as much as 9.5 times faster than the original M1 model.
Memory bandwidth has been raised to about 153GB per second, an increase of roughly 28% over the M4 generation, which should help with demanding creative and AI workloads.
In a notable shift, Apple has dropped the 256GB base configuration; every M5 MacBook Air now starts at 512GB SSD storage, with options scaling up to 4TB.
Apple also says the SSD is roughly twice as fast as before, improving file transfers and project load times for photo, video and code work.
Wireless connectivity has been modernised with the in-house N1 chip, bringing Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6, plus Thread support for smart-home networks.
Despite these upgrades, the M5 MacBook Air continues to promise up to 18 hours of battery life, along with MagSafe charging, two Thunderbolt 4 ports and a 12MP Center Stage camera.
For students, office users and creators who want a light laptop that can also handle AI-driven apps, the M5 MacBook Air discount significantly strengthens the value proposition of Apple's most popular notebook.
You still pay a premium, but with a faster chip, double base storage, next-generation wireless and healthy savings over the sticker price, this is one of the more compelling MacBook Air deals seen so soon after launch.
