A small fire broke out in the Mumbai international airport's Terminal 1 on Thursday evening, causing panic among passengers inside.
Thick smoke was seen rising at 6.10 pm in the sitting lounge of Terminal 1B at the Santacruz Airport in Mumbai.
Airport officials and fire services arrived quickly on the spot and controlled the blaze without much disruption to the airport's operations.
Preliminary reports indicate that the fire was caused by cable trays and switch boxes on the ground floor. Likely due to a short circuit in the airport's electrical wiring. There was no reported injury.
