PMPML Tightens Monitoring to Improve Bus Services, Board Meet on April 13

The Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Ltd (PMPML) has started a series of corrective measures and stricter monitoring mechanisms across all its depots to improve the efficiency and reliability of city bus services.

A board of directors meeting is scheduled on 13th of April to review the current situation and make the future roadmap for the transport utility.

Over the past week, PMPML has stepped up and did pre-departure inspections, especially during early morning bus operations.

Officials said all buses are now being thoroughly checked before leaving the depots to ensure roadworthiness and passenger safety.

The administration has also issued clear instructions to ensure that the drivers and conductors maintain proper conduct and courteous behaviour with passengers.

Senior officials, including the Chief Transport Manager, have been asked to remain on the field from as early as 5.30 am to monitor operations.

PMPML has launched surprise inspections across depots, with timings and locations kept confidential.

Officials said these checks have already started showing positive results with visible improvements in service quality and discipline.

The upcoming board meeting will discuss the impact of these measures and will decide on long-term strategies to further strengthen public transport services in Pune.
