PMRDA Builds 14-Storey Tower in Just 95 Days, Sets Asian Record in Pune

The Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) has set a new benchmark in rapid construction by completing a 14-storey residential building in just 95 days at its Sector 12 housing project in Chikhali.

The achievement has been officially recognised by the Asia Book of Records and the India Book of Records which marked notable milestone in engineering and affordable housing.

PMRDA has surpassed its own earlier record of completing a building in 100 days and achieving the new milestone within 95 days. The previous benchmark in the sector was held by Larsen & Toubro (L&T), which had constructed a 12-storey building in 96 days.

The record was officially given at a ceremony at the project site, where officials handed over a certificate and medal to PMRDA.

The building was made using advanced precast technology, which helped speed up construction without reducing quality. Around 9,000 workers worked day and night in three shifts to finish it quickly.

Officials said the use of factory-made precast components ensured uniform quality, reduced material wastage, and had speed up the construction process.

The building is also designed to be earthquake-resistant which align with modern safety standards.

The 14-storey structure (D-3) under the LIG category includes 112 two-bedroom flats, spread across a built-up area of 94,722 sq ft.

Chief Engineer Rinaz Pathan described the project as a "scalable model" for future affordable housing initiatives, highlighting its potential for large-scale implementation.
