The redevelopment of Pune Railway Station has picked up speed, with projects worth Rs 398 crore sanctioned as part of a major infrastructure upgrade aimed at improving passenger convenience and reducing congestion.

Divisional Railway Manager Rajesh Kumar Verma said the project will include yard remodelling, addition of six new platforms, and extension of existing ones to handle increasing passenger traffic.

New entry and exit points will also be developed to streamline movement and reduce crowding at the station.
