Pune Society Residents Remove Showers to Tackle Summer Water Crisis

In a city move that can be considered as unique and proactive step to save the water scarcity a housing society in sus area has said an example by willingly removing showers from all the flats in the society to reduce the water consumption during the peak summer time.

This initiative has been taken by the members of Kiran Samruddhi cooperative housing society, where the residents have together decided to stop the use of showers across all the apartments.
Before taking this step the society members observed that showers not only led to higher water consumption but also it results in continuous leakage in many forms causing unnecessary wastage of water.

As the city is already sustaining with water shortages especially in the areas which are dependent on tanker supply, here this society has acted swiftly to implement this decision. The residents have remove the showers from their respective homes as an immediate measure to ensure more controlled and mindful use of water. The society is currently relying on water tankers apply by the police municipal corporation by taking this initiative they can reduce the consumption of water and can slow down the pressure on tanker demand indirectly benefiting civic resources.
