The Pune Traffic Police's Public Traffic Platform (PTP) app has received the 107th SKOCH Award for digital innovation, highlighting its contribution to enhancing citizen involvement and traffic management in the city.

Launched on June 14, 2025, during the Zara Dekh Ke Chalo campaign by Pune Times Mirror, the app has garnered a positive response from the public in a short time. In just eight months since its launch, over 1.4 lakh users have signed up, showing strong public interest in the initiative.

Officials state that the app has allowed residents to take part in monitoring traffic violations. Citizens have reported more than two lakh traffic rule violations, leading to fines exceeding ₹12 crore issued by the traffic department.

In addition to reporting traffic violations, the platform enables users to report civic issues like potholes, traffic jams, oil spills, and fallen trees. Authorities noted that over 5,400 such complaints have been submitted through the app, with around 80 percent already resolved in collaboration with the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC).

The SKOCH Award is regarded as one of India's esteemed honors for governance and technology-focused public initiatives. The selection process included several stages such as project registration, shortlisting, and a detailed presentation by Additional Commissioner of Police Manoj Patil. The final decision was made by an expert jury and involved nationwide online public voting.

After receiving the award, Additional CP Manoj Patil thanked Pune Times Mirror on behalf of the Pune Police, recognizing the newspaper's support for the campaign that initiated the app's launch.

Officials said the award highlights how technology-driven platforms can help improve urban governance by encouraging citizens to directly participate in maintaining road discipline and reporting civic issues.
