Quick Share AirDrop Android Support Revolutionises Cross-Platform File Transfer for Oppo, Vivo Flagships

Quick Share AirDrop Android Support Revolutionises Cross-Platform File Transfer for Oppo, Vivo Flagships

Pune Times Mirror 3 weeks ago

Quick Share AirDrop Android compatibility has expanded beyond Google Pixel and Samsung Galaxy devices to include Oppo Find X9 Ultra and Vivo X300 Ultra smartphones.

This development marks a significant breakthrough in cross-platform file sharing between Android and iOS ecosystems, eliminating the need for third-party applications.

The Quick Share AirDrop Android feature enables direct wireless file transfers between supported Android smartphones and all iPhone models. Users must configure their iPhone's AirDrop visibility settings to "Everyone for 10 Minutes" to establish connectivity. Once enabled, the iPhone appears as an available device within the Android phone's Quick Share menu, allowing bidirectional file transfers of photos, videos, and documents.

Google initially introduced this Quick Share AirDrop Android functionality in November 2025 for the Pixel 10 series. Samsung subsequently implemented the feature across its Galaxy S26 lineup and later rolled it out to Galaxy S25 devices through the One UI 8.5 update.

The Oppo Find X9 Ultra, launched in China on 21 April 2026, features a 6.82-inch QHD+ OLED display with 144Hz refresh rate and Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset. It houses a quad-camera system comprising a 200MP wide-angle primary sensor, 50MP ultrawide lens, 200MP periscope telephoto camera, and 50MP telephoto shooter. The device packs a substantial 7,050mAh battery with 100W wired and 50W wireless charging capabilities.

The Vivo X300 Ultra boasts similar flagship specifications, including the same 6.82-inch LTPO OLED display with 120Hz refresh rate and Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor. Its camera array features a 200MP primary sensor, 200MP periscope telephoto lens, and 50MP ultrawide camera with Sony LYT-818 sensor, alongside a 50MP front-facing camera. The handset contains a 6,600mAh battery supporting 100W fast charging and wireless charging.

While the Quick Share AirDrop Android feature successfully bridges platform barriers, transfer speeds may be slower compared to native AirDrop connections between Apple devices or standard Android-to-Android Quick Share operations. Nevertheless, the convenience of eliminating third-party applications outweighs minor speed compromises for most users conducting occasional cross-platform transfers.

Industry reports suggest this expansion to Oppo and Vivo devices indicates broader rollout plans across additional Android manufacturers in the near future. The Quick Share AirDrop Android implementation operates without official collaboration from Apple, representing a notable technical achievement by Google and Android device manufacturers.
