Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra sensational price drop delights buyers

Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra sensational price drop delights buyers

Pune Times Mirror 3 months ago

Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra is getting a major price drop on Amazon India ahead of Prime Day 2026, sharply changing its value proposition in the crowded flagship segment.

The former top-tier Samsung phone, launched with a starting price of Rs 1,29,999 for the 12GB RAM and 256GB storage variant, is now listed close to Rs 93,999, with effective sale prices during Prime Day teased at around Rs 84,999.

Amazon is positioning the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra as one of its headline Prime Day 2026 smartphone deals, with the effective price expected to fall below Rs 85,000 for Prime members once bank and cashback offers are applied. Current listings show the phone around Rs 93,999, already a Rs 36,000 drop from launch, with further savings via Amazon Pay ICICI credit card cashback, no-cost EMI and exchange bonuses on older devices. During the July 4-6 Prime Day window, buyers using eligible SBI, Axis or Amazon Pay ICICI cards can stack instant discounts and cashback to reach the sub-Rs 85,000 bracket, which Amazon is calling the lowest price of the year for this model.

The Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra features a 6.9-inch QHD+ Dynamic LTPO AMOLED 2X display with up to 120Hz refresh rate, adaptive between 1Hz and 120Hz depending on content. It is powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, paired with up to 12GB of RAM and storage options ranging from 256GB to 1TB. The handset carries a 5,000mAh battery with support for 45W wired fast charging and fast wireless charging, alongside Wireless PowerShare for accessories.

On the rear, the Galaxy S25 Ultra offers a quad-camera system including a 200MP main camera, a 50MP ultra-wide, and telephoto lenses with 5x and 3x optical zoom, while the front houses a 12MP selfie camera. It runs Android 15 with One UI 7, includes Galaxy AI features, and ships with promises of seven generations of OS upgrades and seven years of security updates, plus IP68 dust and water resistance.

At effective prices around Rs 84,999, the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra becomes a compelling option for buyers who want a premium Android flagship without paying current-generation Galaxy S26 Ultra rates. The combination of a bright AMOLED display, long-term software support, a 200MP camera system and a Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset makes the phone viable for several years, especially for users upgrading from older Galaxy S or Note devices.

However, prospective buyers may still want to weigh this deal against rivals such as the Vivo X300 Ultra and Apple's iPhone 17 Pro Max, which are also set to receive sizeable discounts during the same Prime Day sale period. For many users, though, this sharp price correction finally aligns the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra's asking price with its hardware and software strengths, turning it from a nice-to-have flagship into a realistic purchase in 2026
