Tata Sierra EV Launch: Groundbreaking Electric SUV Arrives This Festive Season

Tata Sierra EV Launch: Groundbreaking Electric SUV Arrives This Festive Season

Pune Times Mirror 1 month ago

Tata Sierra EV launch has been officially confirmed for the second quarter of FY2026-27, placing the arrival between July and September 2026. This announcement from Tata Motors' Managing Director and CEO Shailesh Chandra ends months of speculation surrounding the electric SUV's debut timeline.

The Sierra EV will offer customers two distinct battery configurations. A 55 kWh pack borrowed from the Curvv EV serves as the base option, while a larger 65 kWh unit promises a real-world range exceeding 500 kilometres on a single charge. Both rear-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive variants are expected, catering to different driving preferences.

Tata has equipped the Sierra EV with cutting-edge technology, including a triple-screen dashboard layout. This comprises a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, digital instrument cluster, and front passenger display. The vehicle supports DC fast charging alongside bidirectional V2L and V2V charging capabilities.

Safety hasn't been compromised either. Higher variants will include Level 2 ADAS, 360-degree cameras, powered front seats, and dual-zone climate control.

Pricing is anticipated to start around Rs 17.5 lakh (ex-showroom), positioning it competitively against the Hyundai Creta Electric, Maruti Suzuki e Vitara, and Mahindra XEV 9e. The Sierra EV will sit between the Curvv EV and Harrier EV in Tata's expanding electric portfolio.

Built on the Acti.ev+ platform, the Sierra EV shares core components with the well-received Harrier EV. The exterior features a closed-off front grille typical of electric vehicles, though the overall cabin layout mirrors its combustion-engine sibling.
