The ongoing renovation work at the historic Tuljabhavani Temple has gained its speed as the soil testing for the proposed Bhavani-Shankar Mandap now completed.
The temple trust had conducted a detailed geotechnical examination in the mandap area using specialised equipments.
The testing was carried out near the brass entrance door and the rear section of the proposed mandap.
Using a 2-inch pipe, the ground was examined up to a depth of around 10 metres to understand the subsurface conditions.
Due to large numbers of devotees, the work was carried out during night hours.
Following the soil analysis, technical experts will now decide the design and depth of the foundation required for the mandap.
Officials said that the safety and durability are being given top priority, considering the historical and religious importance of the site.
With the completion of the ground judgement, construction of the Bhavani-Shankar Mandap is now expected to begin shortly, speeding the overall renovation project.
Authorities said the restoration work is being carried out using modern engineering techniques while preserving the temple's historical legacy.
The project is expected to increase both the safety and infrastructure for devotees visiting the temple.
