The initial occurrence of unseasonal rain has once again revealed ongoing waterlogging problems in the Ramwadi area, with numerous roads and internal lanes inundated with knee-deep water on Monday.
Residents have indicated that the situation has remained static for years, attributing the issue to civic authorities' failure to tackle the persistent problem. The unexpected rainfall resulted in water accumulation across various stretches, complicating daily movement for locals.
Commuters, including office workers, school children, and elderly individuals, were compelled to navigate through waterlogged streets, while traffic flow was hindered in certain areas of the locality.
Local resident Pramod Devkar-Patil claimed that repeated complaints to the municipal corporation have gone unaddressed. Residents assert that insufficient drainage systems, delayed cleaning of nullahs, and a lack of effective planning for rainwater management are significant factors contributing to the issue.
Citizens are now calling for both immediate and long-term solutions to address the waterlogging problem, urging authorities to prioritize drainage enhancements before the monsoon season intensifies.
