His innings of 52 runs from just 17 balls against Chennai Super Kings was not only winning his team a match or making him look like a great cricketer; it was also making his entire country very excited, while every expert is searching for words that best describe how special this performance was. Nandre Burger and Jofra Archer did an unbelievable job with the ball; they helped get CSK out to a very bad start with 3 wickets for 30 runs during the powerplay, and ended up with their team all out for only 127 runs from 19.4 overs.

Sooryavanshi, in an interview after the match, said: "There was supposed to be some cake cutting for my birthday, but I went to bed early to avoid the cake mess."
