However, three-wheelers and tractors did not follow the same trend and saw a fall in registrations during the same period.

According to the data, two-wheelers led the overall rise. A total of 12,542 two-wheelers were registered in July this year, compared to 9,717 in July 2025. This means the city added around 2,825 more two-wheelers this year, taking the growth rate to 29.1%.

Cars also did well during the month. The city recorded 5,534 new car registrations, marking a 20.9% increase over last year.

Commercial vehicles, though, posted the biggest jump of all categories. Registrations in this segment rose by 32.1%, with around 357 more vehicles added compared to the same month last year.

While most categories showed growth, three-wheelers took a hit. Only 307 three-wheelers were registered in July, a steep fall of 51.8% compared to last year. Officials said the drop is largely because new permits for passenger autorickshaws have not been issued for some time now, which has slowed down fresh registrations in this category.

Tractors, too, saw a decline. The city recorded 136 tractor registrations, down 17.6% from last year. This local dip stands out because, at the national level, tractor sales actually grew by 28% in the same month, making Pimpri Chinchwad's numbers go against the broader trend.

Overall, the July data paints a mixed picture for Pimpri Chinchwad. While two-wheelers, cars and commercial vehicles are driving strong growth in the city's vehicle market, the fall in three-wheelers and tractors shows that not every segment is moving in the same direction.
