Vivo X300 Ultra Zeiss extender kit support is now official ahead of the phone's India launch, and it is clearly aimed at serious mobile photographers.
The company has begun teasing a modular camera system that works with Zeiss-branded telephoto extenders for both the X300 Ultra and the more affordable X300 FE.
On the X300 Ultra, Vivo uses an 85mm f/2.7 telephoto camera as the base, with external Zeiss teleconverter lenses mounting over it via a special case and bayonet-style mount. The Zeiss extender kit will include a 400mm unit that can deliver effective focal lengths of around 800mm, 1,600mm and even 3,200mm through in-camera crop options. Vivo's camera app is designed to recognise which Zeiss extender is attached and switch modes automatically, without forcing users to dig through menus.
The photography bundle also adds a dedicated camera grip with physical controls, including a shutter key, zoom lever, scroll wheel and a separate video recording button, plus a tripod collar for long-range stability. Vivo first showed this ecosystem at MWC 2026, positioning the X300 Ultra as its most camera-focused flagship yet, with support for external optical accessories under the "ZEISS Telephoto Extender Gen 2 Ultra" branding.
Vivo X300 Ultra Zeiss extender kit compatibility will not be limited to the top model, as the X300 FE is expected to support a 200mm Zeiss telephoto extender sold separately. Reports suggest the X300 FE will pair this accessory with a Zeiss-backed 50-megapixel telephoto camera, extending optical zoom to 200mm and offering focal length presets up to 1,600mm. The X300 FE, positioned below the standard X300, is likely to arrive in India soon after its earlier launch in Russia.
For mobile photographers, the Vivo X300 Ultra Zeiss extender kit signals a more ambitious push towards DSLR-like reach in a smartphone, even if pricing and availability for the Indian market are still under wraps. If Vivo can keep image quality high at these extreme focal lengths, its Zeiss partnership could give the X300 Ultra and X300 FE a distinct edge over rival camera flagships this year.
