Thiruvananthapuram: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast heavy rainfall across Kerala over the next three days. Rain alerts have been issued for all districts today except Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, and Alappuzha.
An Orange Alert has been declared for Kozhikode, Wayanad, and Kannur districts due to the possibility of very heavy rainfall. A Yellow Alert has been issued for Pathanamthitta, Kottayam, Ernakulam, Idukki, Thrissur, Palakkad, and Malappuram districts, indicating the likelihood of heavy rain.

The IMD has also warned of strong winds accompanying the rainfall, with wind speeds expected to range between 40 and 50 km/h. Fishing activities have been prohibited along the coasts of Kerala, Karnataka, and Lakshadweep due to rough sea conditions.
According to the weather department, rainfall is expected to intensify after a brief lull.
For tomorrow, rain alerts have been issued for all districts in the state. An Orange Alert has been announced for Pathanamthitta, Kottayam, Idukki, Kannur, and Kasaragod, while the remaining districts will remain under a Yellow Alert.
On Saturday, an Orange Alert will be in effect for Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Ernakulam, and Idukki, with a Yellow Alert issued for all other districts in view of the expected heavy rainfall.
