Thousands of students march towards state assembly opposing CAB

Guwahati, As the Home Minister Amit Shah introduced the Citizenship Amendment Bill in Rajya Sabha today thousands of students from various school and colleges in Guwahati marched towards the state assembly here chanting anti CAB slogans. Huge traffic jams were witnessed across the city as students from various corners of the city in their school uniform marched towards the assembly. The situation in Guwahati capital of Assam along with places Dibrugarh, Jorhat has virtually turned into a warzone with protestors in thousands came out in street in protest against the bill. The army staged flag march in many areas in the state. The Gauhati University has postponed all examination scheduled for December 11, 2019. The Controller of Examination in a notification stated, "All examinations scheduled on 11th December 2019 are postposed under GU.

Protestors also staged a demonstration in front of influential state Cabinet minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sharma in the afternoon, after waving black flags at his convoy earlier in the day.
