Sabre Introduces AI-First Platform and Technology Rebuild at ITB Berlin 2026

Sabre Corporation introduced a redesigned technology platform and updated brand identity at ITB Berlin 2026, marking the completion of a multi-year transformation of the company's technology and operational framework.

The initiative focuses on creating a unified, cloud-based platform built around artificial intelligence and data capabilities. According to Sabre, the rebuilt system is designed to support innovation in travel retailing, operations and distribution while allowing partners to integrate their own technologies.

Unified technology platform

At the centre of the transformation is the new Sabre Mosaic, which brings together previously separate systems. The platform has been developed using cloud infrastructure and is designed to support faster updates, improved system reliability and scalable performance.

Sabre said the platform enables travel companies to adopt technology tools at their own pace and integrate external solutions without being restricted to a closed ecosystem.

Over the past few years, the company has migrated major systems to cloud infrastructure, redesigned core services and reorganised its technology architecture to support future product development.

AI integration across the platform

Artificial intelligence has been integrated across different areas of the platform, including retail, operations, and customer service. The system is supported by Sabre's travel data infrastructure, which contains large volumes of industry data used to train and improve AI-driven processes.

The company said its AI capabilities are powered in part by technology from Google, including the Google Gemini model. These systems help process data, automate tasks and support decision-making across travel workflows.

Sabre also introduced technology designed for "agentic travel," where systems can perform tasks such as planning and executing travel operations with limited manual input. The company previously launched APIs and a Model Context Protocol server to enable such automated workflows in enterprise environments.

Operational and financial changes

Alongside the technology overhaul, Sabre has implemented operational and financial adjustments to support long-term development. The company has focused on debt management, cost structure improvements and expanding its engineering resources to support faster product development.

These steps, Sabre said, are intended to support innovation while maintaining operational efficiency.

New brand identity

The company also introduced an updated visual identity during the event, reflecting its transition to a technology platform centred on cloud infrastructure, data and artificial intelligence.

Attendees at ITB Berlin were able to see demonstrations of the new platform at Sabre's exhibition spaces in Hall 5.1 and Hall 6, where the company presented examples of automated workflows and AI-supported travel processes.

Industry partnerships and applications

Sabre noted that several partnerships are already exploring AI-driven travel technology. These include collaborations with companies such as PayPal, Mindtrip and BizTrip AI.

In addition, Virgin Australia has integrated an AI-based chatbot into its systems using technology connected to ChatGPT.

 Kurt Ekert

Commenting on the announcement, Kurt Ekert said the technology rebuild was aimed at improving system stability and enabling faster innovation for travel industry partners.

 Garry Wiseman

Garry Wiseman added that the updated architecture, data systems and governance tools were designed to support continued technology development as travel companies adopt new digital capabilities.

As the travel industry explores automation and AI-driven services, Sabre said its new platform is intended to support travel providers, technology developers, and partners developing new digital solutions across the travel ecosystem.
