The Ritz-Carlton, Bangalore Appoints Colin Tait as Director of Beverage
Colin Tait has been appointed as the new Director of Beverage at The Ritz-Carlton, Bangalore.
He brings over two decades of hospitality experience having worked globally across Asia and Europe in beverage operations and bar leadership.
He first gained recognition as the opening Bar Manager at Vesper Bangkok, where he played a key role in establishing the bar's identity and guiding it to inclusion in the inaugural Asia's 50 Best Bars list.
He later spent a significant part of his career in Shanghai, transitioning from bar leadership into entrepreneurship. As Operations Partner, he co-founded Black Rock Shanghai, a whisky-focused bar concept inspired by its London counterpart, known for its curated whisky selection and progressive cocktail programme. During his tenure, he also curated a collection of over 200 whisky labels.
Colin holds a Diploma in Single Malt Whisky from the Edinburgh Whisky Academy and is recognised for his expertise in whisky curation and concept-driven beverage programming.
In his new role, he will lead beverage strategy and operations at The Ritz-Carlton, Bangalore, focusing on refining the hotel's bar identity and enhancing guest experiences through structured and innovative beverage programmes.
