The Royal Sonesta Kauai Resort Lihue has announced the appointment of Monika Henry as General Manager.
Henry brings over two decades of experience in leading luxury, lifestyle, and resort properties across the United States. She is recognized for her expertise in operational excellence, service innovation, and a people-first leadership approach, making her a strong addition to one of Kaua'i's premier beachfront destinations.
Most recently, she served as General Manager of Sonesta White Plains Downtown, where she successfully led the property's transition from a Crowne Plaza hotel to the Sonesta Hotels and Resorts brand, alongside a multimillion-dollar renovation.
Her previous leadership experience includes roles at prominent luxury properties such as InterContinental Boston by IHG Hotels and Resorts and The Westin Copley Place Boston.
Known for fostering high-performing teams and delivering personalized guest experiences, Henry's leadership philosophy emphasizes both service excellence and team empowerment. Her contributions to the industry have been recognized with several accolades, including General Manager of the Year at Sonesta Hotels & Resorts and the Women in Tourism General Manager Category Winner in 2024.
