The Government of Andhra Pradesh has taken a major step to prioritize local candidates in government jobs. As per the latest decision, 95% of government job posts will be reserved for local candidates , with the issuance of GO 45 . This move is implemented based on the 2025 Presidential Orders and the corresponding Central Gazette notification.
Reorganization of Zones
To streamline recruitment, the state has been divided into:
- 6 Zones
- 2 Multi-Zones
95% Reservation for Locals
- 95% of posts in each cadre will be filled by local candidates
- The remaining 5% will be filled under the general quota
Local Status Criteria
A candidate will be considered a local if they meet any one of the following conditions:
- Studied in the respective district for at least 4 consecutive years up to the qualifying examination
OR - Parents have resided in the same district for a minimum of 4 years
