The OIST Research Internship Program 2026 is offered by the Okinawa Institute of Science and Technology for undergraduate and postgraduate students, as well as recent graduates, who have an academic background relevant to their chosen host unit at OIST. This fully-funded internship provides students with hands-on research experience and the opportunity to explore potential future PhD studies at OIST.
Eligibility
- Open to students in the final 2 years of a Bachelor's program, any year of a Master's program, or recent graduates
- Must have approval from their home institution if currently enrolled
- Relevant academic background for the desired host unit at OIST
- Interest in gaining additional research experience
- Intention to apply for OIST's PhD program in the future
