Hyderabad (Telangana) - On April 5th, 2026, a team of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation in the Charminar section here conducted a campaign to remove encroachments from the Lad Bazaar to Puranapool Road. A total of 52 encroached structures were removed in this operation. AIMIM workers opposed the operation to remove encroachments in the Charminar section. A case has been registered against many people including AIMIM MLA Rehmat Baig in this case. Also, Sahil Akbar, the son of a former corporator, has been arrested and sent to judicial custody in this case. 1. A Police officer from Charminar Police station had filed a complaint against the accused.

2. The complaint alleged that employees who participated in the campaign to remove encroachments were prevented from working and mistreated.

3. One Police officer was injured in the incident. Additional Police force has been deployed in the area.

4. Officials have made it clear that strict action will be taken against those who create obstacles in government work.
