- Conspiracy to tarnish culture in the name of Garba in Amravati
- Vishwa Hindu Parishad and Bajrang Dal oppose the advertisement
Police order the Crime Branch to investigate the matter
Amravati (Maharashtra) - An advertisement offering male and female partners for Garba and Dandiya events has been prepared in Amravati ahead of the Navratri festival. The advertisement reportedly categorises the services into different tiers-'Gold', 'Silver' and 'Platinum'-and proposes to charge fees ranging from ₹4,000 to ₹6,000. Upon learning about this, the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) and Bajrang Dal met the police and strongly objected to the advertisement. They also demanded immediate and stringent legal action.
The police have ordered a thorough investigation into the advertisement. Commercial Garba organisers in the city have also been summoned for questioning. The police have assured that strict legal action will be taken against those found responsible in the matter.
