Chittagong (Bangladesh) - A Hindu youth named Pankaj Shil (aged 35) was stabbed to death on the night of 9 June in Patiya Upazila of Chittagong District.
Another Hindu who was injured in the incident is currently undergoing treatment at Chattogram Medical College Hospital. Office-bearers of Bangladesh Minority Watch provided details of the incident to a Sanatan Prabhat correspondent.
The organisation stated that numerous incidents involving violations of the human rights of minority Hindus in Bangladesh, including murder, rape, abduction, forced religious conversion, desecration of temples and land grabbing, are still taking place.
In this regard, the Superintendent of Police of Chittagong said that he had visited the scene on 10 June and that the suspect who had been taken into custody was mentally ill.
