Mumbai - Rahul Shinde, a senior clerk in the office of the Deputy Director of Education, demanded a bribe of ₹1.5 lakhs for granting approval to junior college classes of a reputed educational institution in the city.
Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has arrested him in this case.
Despite all rules having been duly followed, senior clerk Rahul Shinde had deliberately kept the file for class approval pending. Although the work was supposed to proceed according to regulations, the complainant approached the Anti-Corruption Bureau instead of paying the demanded bribe. Upon receiving the complaint, ACB officials laid a trap. As soon as Shinde accepted the bribe amount, he was caught red-handed. A case has been registered in this matter.
