Significant damage to US military bases during conflict with Iran

London - Although the United States and Israel have paused their attacks on Iran, reports indicate that while Iran suffered losses, US military bases also sustained significant damage during the conflict.

According to a report by CNN, based on satellite imagery and on-ground visuals, Iran succeeded in partially or completely damaging advanced US military systems and equipment.

1. Iran adopted a strategy of targeting US military bases located in neighbouring Arab countries. In this, at least 16 bases across 8 countries - including Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, and United Arab Emirates - reportedly suffered major damage.

2. The Camp Buehring in Kuwait, which was previously active with troops and operations before the conflict, is now reported to be largely deserted.

3. The Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar was targeted twice. From its operations centre, the US maintained coordination with 29 countries. This base also sustained considerable damage, and the command centre has reportedly been relocated.

4. At the Camp Arifjan, several radar domes essential for data transmission were destroyed in Iranian attacks. This has caused major damage to advanced radar systems required for air defence.

5. Satellite imagery indicates that Iran carried out missile and drone strikes, resulting in large craters at US airbases and structural damage. Fighter aircraft and other military equipment were either destroyed or severely damaged.

6. A source familiar with the developments told CNN, "I have never seen damage like this before." Advanced technology was used to carry out fast and precise strikes on targets.

7. In a missile attack by Iran on the Prince Sultan Air Base in Saudi Arabia, a US E-3 Sentry AWACS aircraft was damaged. The loss is estimated at approximately 500,000 US dollars (around ₹4 crore 74 lakh 55 thousand).
