India's Ministry of External Affairs described the committee's conclusions in the report as politically motivated and extremely hostile, while rejecting all its baseless allegations. The report was released following India's 11th periodic review under the International Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination, held in Geneva on 11 and 12 August. The Ministry of External Affairs clarified, "We have reviewed the observations recorded by the committee."

The Ministry further said that this was a standard assessment conducted under the treaty framework and that India had participated constructively in the process. India remains firmly committed to eliminating racial discrimination. During the assessment process, India highlighted its constitutional safeguards, comprehensive legal framework, pluralistic culture and ongoing initiatives for the protection of disadvantaged sections.

An official release from the Ministry stated that the Indian delegation emphasised the country's culture, diversity, scale and complexity, legal framework, safeguards, affirmative action and democratic accountability, among other aspects, as India is committed to ensuring equality, dignity and opportunity for all Indians.
