Shillong Times 2 months ago

Shillong, July 30: Meghalaya footballer Wanshwadame Diengdoh has been named in the Bodoland FC squad for the 135th IndianOil Durand Cup 2026, where the club will compete in Group F. Bodoland FC will begin their campaign against defending champions NorthEast United FC on August 1 at the Indira Gandhi Athletic Stadium in Guwahati.

The group also features Karbi Anglong Morning Star FC and FC1 from Jammu & Kashmir, with all Group F fixtures scheduled to be played in Guwahati.
Diengdoh joins Bodoland FC after a successful stint with Garhwal FC, where he played a key role in helping the club lift the Delhi Premier League title in May this year. Prior to that, the midfielder was an integral member of the Langsning FC side that emerged champions of the Shillong Premier League in 2025.
Bodoland FC recently travelled to Shillong for a pre-season friendly against Shillong Lajong FC, who are competing in Group E of this year's Durand Cup.
The 135th IndianOil Durand Cup features six groups, with the winners of each group and the two best second-placed teams progressing to the knockout stage.
The quarterfinals are scheduled to begin on August 16, with matches to be held in Ranchi and Kolkata, followed by the remaining quarterfinals on August 17 in Kolkata and Shillong.
