SHILLONG: A group of teachers under the banner Meghalaya Teacher Eligibility Test (MTET) Qualified Teachers has exhorted the state government to expedite the appointment process of assistant teachers in government schools in the state.
"The MTET examination is done and we are waiting for the personal interview to be conducted and then appoint teachers in the government schools", Badapjied Kylla, who is the convener of the group, said on Wednesday.
There are 4,570 candidates who have passed the MTET examination in both the Upper Primary (UP) and Lower Primary (LP) level.
