The MPs protested in front of Makar Dwar of Parliament. Slogans such as 'chadhawa chor, gaddi chor', 'grih mantri sadan mein aao' and 'who gave the order' were raised by the lawmakers.
The MPs also kept a donation box with them and they were seen putting money inside it to symbolise the alleged theft of donations at the Ram temple.
Besides Priyanka Gandhi, Congress general secretary K C Venugopal, SP's Dharmendra Yadav, TMC's Sagarika Ghose, JMM's Mahua Maji, among others, participated in the protest.

Opp walks out of RS

Opposition parties led by the Congress walked out of the Rajya Sabha on Thursday after their demand for Home Minister Amit Shah to make a statement on allegations that police used brutal force, including pellet guns, against students protesting the alleged leak of the medical entrance examination NEET was declined.
Soon after listed papers were laid on the table of the House, opposition members raised slogans demanding that Shah come to the House and explain the police action on July 20.
Raising a point of order, Congress leader Pramod Tiwari said the Constitution made the Council of Ministers accountable and answerable to Parliament.
Nadda condemned the opposition's conduct as irresponsible.

HM responsible for police brutality, says Kharge

Holding Home Minister Amit Shah responsible for alleged police brutalities on protesting students, Leader of the Opposition in the Rajya Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge on Thursday said that "Jan Shakti" (people's power) will "drag him out" one day to make him accountable.
Speaking on the Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Amendment Bill, 2026, Kharge criticised the absence of the Prime Minister and the Home Minister from the House, saying neither had spoken despite so much unrest.

BJP's Chugh calls Rahul 'habitual offender'

BJP national general secretary Tarun Chugh on Thursday accused Congress leader Rahul Gandhi of trying to mislead students over the NEET issue instead of addressing their concerns, and alleged that he is a "habitual offender" in making anti-India and anti-Sanatan remarks.
The remarks came a day after Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi alleged that Union Home Minister Amit Shah was behind police excesses and "firing" against student protesters, triggering a massive uproar inside and outside Parliament.

Jitendra Singh swears by anti-paper leak bill

The amendment to the anti-paper leak law is a testimony that the government has zero tolerance towards exam paper leaks and its resolve that nobody will be allowed to jeopardise the future of our children, Union minister Jitendra Singh said as the Rajya Sabha took up the Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Amendment Bill, 2026, on Thursday.
Piloting the bill, Singh said the government has brought this amendment in right earnest and was open to constructive suggestions from all quarters.
