Vishal Kumar - Rank 2 (Embee Rosebud School):
The son of a barber and housewife, Vishal's story is one that shines through for the many sacrifices involved by parents that took it upon themselves to ensure their ward shone despite the travesty they faced.
Vishal felt proud of his achievement and felt it was the credit of his parents who always supported him and had his back. He also thanked his teachers for their support which he felt was instrumental in his success.
On his preparation, Vishal said he was initially not very serious though with the approaching exams, he began to schedule his workload. Though he put in about 2-3 hours daily, he said it was all focused studies which helped him.
About his future, he said he would look to pursue a career in Science and stay for his intermediate in Tura, either in the local Kendriya Vidyalaya or Don Bosco College.
Vishal added he loves to travel and has recently become an avid reader of novels.
For future aspirants Vishal advised to stay away from social media and other distractions as much as possible and focus completely on studies when taking up books.
Talking on the contribution of his parents to his success Vishal said, "They sacrificed their desires to ensure I could focus on my studies. Their contributions are immense and I hope one day I will be able to repay them."
Prinita Das - Rank 3: Pechon Memorial PP School
For Prinita Das the constant guidance of her teachers and parents were the reason for her success. Feeling extremely grateful for the results, she dedicated her results to them.
Prinita wants to become a doctor and will pursue Science in the future. She too wants to attend KV in Tura and will also try other schools and colleges as well.
She felt that the duration of studies did not matter but felt that focused studies would be best served for those looking to excel in their education.
Adiel Sangma - Rank 19: Sherwood School
The son of educationists from Garo Hills, Adiel said he was satisfied with his achievement though he would have been happier with a few more marks.
Adiel said he followed a routine in the run up to the SSLC and felt spending longer hours on certain subjects made things easier to understand.
For his achievement in the SSLC, Adiel thanked his Math/Science teacher while adding that his parents and other teachers were very supportive.
For his higher studies, Adiel said he will be travelling to Chennai to pursue a course in Science.
Consistency, as per him, was the mantra that future aspirants needed to follow to achieve success.
Churchill Leithanthem - Rank 20: Sherwood School
The son of a lecturer who works at the College of Home Science and a homemaker, Churchill said the results were a little below what he expected. He however thanked his parents and especially his Maths/Science teacher in Sherwood for his success. He also expressed his gratitude towards his Hindi teacher for her help in achieving his goal.
His modus operandi for the exam was to study for about 4 hours in the morning and revise the same in the evening. In between he would take breaks and stay connected. Balance was what mattered, he felt.
About his future, he said he would prepare for NERIST before trying to become an engineer.
For future aspirants, he felt a balanced outlook would be the best way forward. "Too much studying could stress you out. There needs to be a balance that you need to maintain," he felt.
